ALTERNATING
MASONRY
MODULE
Drawing inspiration from Filip Dujardin’s Sequence No. 1, this project takes a simple masonry module and multiplies it into an infinite linear sequence. It’s an exploration of how a repeating structural rhythm can build an entire spatial atmosphere. The module itself is rooted in the heavy, tectonic nature of brick—two primary load-bearing walls and a third lateral wall that closes off one side. What starts as a small, measurable unit expands through iteration into something that feels almost endless. By repeating this single element, the physical structure and the space it creates become completely inseparable, turning a basic construction logic into a continuous, rhythmic journey.
